Adios, Glitter Nails!

First and foremost, I saw this on Pinster (yeah, I kinda call it that sometimes), so while I wish I could be the genius who discovered this fantastic trick, I'm not. Bummer.


The pinner claims you can take glittery nail polish off with just aluminum foil, nail polish remover, and cotton balls—no scrubbing needed. I'm pretty sure I rolled my eyes and said, "yeah right," when I saw that. But then last night I needed to take the purple glitter polish off my nails and remembered the pin.

This actually works (picture above is evidence)! I figured there are a few people who haven't seen this yet, so I had to share it with you. I'm still excited about not having to scrub, rub, or scrape the glitter off my nails, and I may or may not have done a little happy dance around the room when there wasn't a smidge of glitter left on my nails.

Here's what you need:

nail polish remover

10 cotton balls

10 long(ish) pieces of foil

scissors 

Here's what you do:

Cut 10 pieces of foil long enough to wrap completely around your nail. (I cut mine around 1" thick and about 5" long.) Working one finger at a time, soak your cotton ball just like you were going to remove the polish, but then place the soaked side down on your nail. Wrap that nail/finger in foil and make sure it's on nice and snug. Repeat with remaining fingers (I did one hand first and then the other hand). Chill for a few minutes (I showed off my foil-wrapped fingers by doing dancing phalanges around my husband's face) and then slide the foil off. Voila! Your glitter will magically be lifted away.
